This
University based clinic is located in San Francisco. The
Pacific Center for Orofacial Disorders serves Northern California
dental and medical communities. This specialty center focuses
on the diagnosis and treatment of...
Temporomandibular
Disorders (TMJ)
and
Obstructive
Sleep Disorders (Snoring and Sleep Apnea).
The faculty is comprised of specialists in dentistry, medicine,
psychology, acupuncture and physical therapy. Services are provided
by licensed specialists with fees consistent with normal health
care costs. Adjunct faculty in neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics,
physical medicine, and internal medicine are located across the
street at California Pacific Medical Center. Magnetic resonance
imaging, tomographic x-ray and computerized mandibular function
diagnostic services are available.
Treatment is carried out at the Pacific Center or integrated with
other health care facilities. Phase II orthotic, orthodontic and
prosthodontic care is available.
Other health problems that must be considered
when evaluating orofacial complaints include neurovascular and
oncological issues. These problems are relatively rare, but could
include entities such as trigeminal neuralgia, temporal arteritis
or even cancer. Other medical or dental specialists are consulted
and referrals may be necessary.
